This week, we are happy to welcome DJ Omm to the Dusk Dubs family. DJ Omm has been a constant supporter of the Dusk Dubs mix-tapes from day one and with his vast knowledge in music, we knew we'd be in for a real treat with his selections.

As a true Drum & Bass solider at heart, he has gone all over the world following his musical hero's, the likes of Goldie, Calibre and Marcus Intalex.
So much is his passion for D&B, he started putting on his own nights called 'SoundBoy' in his local town, which have built up a reputation for somewhere where you can hear the finest D&B with a great bunch of people.

Below, are a few words from this week’s selector :

'I am a complete Drum & Bass addict in every way, shape & form and I spend every spare penny I have on buying vinyl & own far more records than I have room for. I also run my own Drum n Bass night in my local town where I DJ.

I regular put together mixes of all styles of DnB which are available on my Soundcloud page.

I started my dance music voyage at 12 years old, buying Prodigy’s ‘Experience’ and I never looked back. I started clubbing at 15 years old going down to Club Kinetic in Stoke with fake ID and also had my first taste of jungle in December 1995, where I saw Mickey Finn & Kenny Ken at ‘Vibealite’ in Mansfield…..….. my mind was blown!!

I had already bought a few 7 & 12”s from the age of 12, but got my hands on some decks at 15 and my obsession with vinyl began. I spent the next 10 years getting the train to Manchester & hanging round in Eastern Bloc & Spin Inn record shops, listening to every bit of DnB/Jungle I could. (That died down with the emergence of internet Shopping)

You can find me every month raving hard at Band on the Wall nightclub in Manchester’ home of Marcus Intalex’s legendary drum n bass night Soul:ution.

Beyond my drum n bass obsession I listen to all sorts of other flava’s... between me and my woman, we buy anything and everything. Through twitter it’s been great to hook up with other like-minded people and be exposed to a new world of folk sharing music they love.

Absolutely buzzing off the #DuskDubs project as I've been introduced to so much quality music I have never heard before.... I feel blessed that I was asked to be a part of the #DuskDubs mixtape series and get a chance to share some of the records down the years that are so special to me. There is no real form to my selections other than I am sucker for anything that has got soul and is a bit dreamy/atmospheric.

The main ingredient to any piece of music for me, is if its sounds good. It doesn’t matter what genre it is!!! Enjoy…. Dj Omm'
