This week, we are very blessed to have Jaz Didu crate dig for us. I have mixed in similar circles with Jaz for a few years now, always being blown away by his tune selections and forward thinking sets. Never one for being confined by genres, Jaz tends to play what he likes, always with a driving purpose. I know this volume will go down a storm, and considering the collection Jaz has at his disposal, I know it took a lot for him to decide on these particular tracks so it's an honour to mix them.
I highly recommend you check his soundcloud, and take in some of his other mixes as this guy is a killer on the decks.
As always, catch us most nights on twitter via #DuskDubs ... and feel free to get involved.
Below, are a few words from this week’s selector :
'With this selection I wanted to give listeners a flavor of my musical style and the sort of thing you would expect to hear in a Jaz Didu set. You will often find tunes from the artists in this selection littered throughout my mixes, though often via their more club suited sounds.
I have put a lot of consideration into each tune here and their placement in the selection. Starting out with the ambient sounds of Berlin, the selection explores my various favored musical concepts which I hope will become apparent to the listener. Although it is difficult to pick out highlights, mentions will go to the rather indulgent Dj Sliink remix of 'I Think'; the lush electronica of both Jam City tunes; the personification of minimal bass in Luv Zombie and Pan; and probably the most influential track of my current musical direction, The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow.
I hope you enjoy the listen, and thanks to the #DuskDubs crew for inviting me onto their amazing series. Keep up the outstanding work!
