For this week’s mixtape, we welcome Neil Brown to the Dusk Dubs family.

"I'd just like to start by saying a big thanks to the Dusk Dubs Team for giving me the opportunity to share some of my favourite music with like minded people.

In my late teens I was into the extreme metal scene. Around late 1990 my younger brother started playing me rave tapes from the local radio station (Wear FM R.I.P) and I was instantly hooked by the hardcore sounds of Dj's like Yoz.  By 1992 I realised that I was much more interested in the breakbeat side of things than the 4/4 stuff and this is where my obsession with jungle/drum'n'bass started. That's pretty much all I listened to (with the exception of hip hop) until late 1999 when I discovered Gilles Petersons Worldwide radio show.

This began an unbelievably exciting musical period for me as Gilles opened my eyes to so many wonderful styles and artists. My selection covers music that I fell in love with during the first 3 or 4 years religiously listening to his Radio 1 show and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed digging through my records to select them.

Peace and Dusk Dubs".
